Winter's Bone

I just finished Winter's Bone by Daniel Woodrell. There's a good review of it here. The story swirls through the Ozarks in winter. Woodrell is a fantastic, lyrical writer. It's not for the faint of heart; downright scary at times. Perhaps most frightening is the possibility that this life really does exist.
