Holidays

For me, they mean Christmas, birthday, birthday and birthday. And don't forget New Year's/birthday. But this year, since I'm a little low on responsibilities/expectations/social engagements, I've done a lot of shopping and seem to be almost done with the gift buying portion of Christmas. And since I can't show you after Christmas, here it is now!The kids are getting Tokyo, Paris, and NY in a bag from Muji.

G is getting Popo chan from me and my mom. She picked out another doll, but I really like Popo chan and she has some classic outfits that just can't be duplicated in the states. And M is getting a backpack for school next year. It's not this leather one, but a bit like it. It's also from Muji and the cheapest on around at 9900 yen. You can calculate that into dollars if you want to. I prefer just not thinking too much about it. She will be using this backpack for the rest of her life.

Of course there's more, but must save some for later!

  1. I saw the muji set in NY. I really wanted to get it for Amaya, but she still likes to eat non-food items (I just caught her in the bathroom with my deodarant--umpteenth time--I guess it must not be poisonous).

  3. It is pretty fun. Though the leather version comes in an array of colors: pink, baby blue, magenta, green, teal, etc. I'm hoping M doesn't feel too left out when all the other girls have way cooler bags than she. I'm just not willing to shell out the $300-600 they cost. We though $87 was ridiculous. But, I'm getting excited for first grade, even though it's not until April. It's a really big deal for kids here.

  4. 300-600 for a bag? Woah. I think that red bag is pretty darn awesome. After I saw it I've been totally wanting it. I even tried looking it up on line. Maybe I should put it in my birthday wish list.

  5. They sell them on ebay. Just type in Japanese backpack. I'm wishing I had looked here first, since they have leather ones for the same price. Maybe I can cancel my order with Muji.
