The New House

The only room in order is the living room. I want to get a new rug, but it will have to wait until we get paid. And I need to recover the couches. But otherwise, it looks way better than anywhere else in our house.

This is our kitchen. That's our table from our old house in the middle of the space. See what I mean about a huge space? The layout has much to be desired. There are cupboards and counters on the right, but nowhere else. The fridge and stove are on the left. We will probably head out to Ikea and get two kitchen carts. One for next to the stove and the other next to the table. We'll post more pics as the rooms come together. Meaning, when we get beds.

  1. I bet you'll be shcoked to hear that there are 3 watermelons growing on your vines. They are tennis ball-sized right now.

Glad to hear that you're getting settled into your new home! :)

  2. That is a huge kitchen! Is there a dining room too? I like all the windows though. They're kind of old-timey and they go almost to the floor.

  3. I love your New England home. Those big windows are awesome. Your big kitchen is a dream. All you need now is to move that table, get a disco ball, and turn that space into a dance floor.

  4. oh yeah... I also want to hear all about the girls. Does G like school? Does she ride the school bus? Does M like school? How are the school lunched there?

  7. HUUUUUGE!

I dream of a day when I can pull out the kitchen table and leave all the sides exposed so people can sit around it, rather than just on one side (wall and fridge take up 2 sides at this point).

    Love the wood floor too.

The word verifier is "drolougg" and yes, I'm drooling.

  8. I'm excited about the watermelons. I hope they make it! I'm glad you're all excited about the kitchen. It needs a lot of work to be usable since the work triangle is seriously 12 feet from the fridge to the sink, and then 10 more to the stove. If we were staying for more than a year, I'd love to invest a lot of time and $$ into it, but since it's so short term, it's hard to do.

  10. I'm totally in love with your wood floors! Did you make the curtains? Window treatments always make places feel more homey. Good luck with your kitchen I think the kitchen carts are a great idea.
